Tell us the challenge you're seeing

Purpose

To build a structured, shared record on real gaps and challenges mariners are seeing at sea. This is not a ‘suggestion box’ — this is a bid to capture the raw material behind future AI strategy and governance development that will support the maritime industry, faculty research, and enable strong capstone projects.

Whenever you are at sea, you will see things — gaps, workarounds, training that didn't match what you actually needed. Write it down here. You don't need to know whether AI is the answer; that's what this process figures out next.

A challenge is just a clearly stated gap: what's happening, why it's a problem, and who it affects. That's it — three or four sentences is plenty.

Submissions are grouped by domain and risk category and shared with faculty as source material for capstone projects.

With ~900 midshipmen and 7,000+ alumni in a position to submit, this only works if the categories below are filled in accurately — they're what let us group real patterns instead of re-reading a thousand free-text answers.

We'll email you a confirmation the moment it's received.
